The Québec Climate Change Adaptation Observatory (OQACC) participated in a webinar panel organized by Ouranos, Futurs-ACT and Réseau d’Expertise sur les Changements climatiques en Occitanie (the Climate Change Expertise Network in Occitanie, RECO).
This panel addressed various topics of shared interest for France and Québec regarding climate change adaptation. The third webinar, entitled “Can we measure our success in adaptation?”, focused on the growing demand for tools that can measure progress toward adaptation objectives.
Pierre Valois, Director of the OQACC, presented “An overview of the specific challenges of monitoring and evaluation in climate change adaptation.” His presentation discussed the reliability and validity of adaptation indicators in relation to different climate‑related hazards aligned with OQACC’s research themes, such as heat islands, Lyme disease, flooding, and pollen allergies.
